Problem: The Auction:

After a lively auction West has declared 5♣. North goes further and calls 5♦, East doubles. What are you going to bid?

Hint:

You have three small spades and East, who has doubled 5♦, will gain the opening lead – leading spades no doubt – you do not like this scenario very much as you face the danger of losing three tricks in spades.

If you declare the winning contract, West (who has shown clubs) will have the lead.
